They Call Him Flipper...
Joely and I took Auntie Alisa out today on a dolphin watching trip. It's been pretty rainy for the last week or so here, so we were pleased to see this morning turned out to be a lovely sunny WA day:

Once we were underway, Joely headed up to the bow to take up scouting duties:

We were very lucky today in that we saw two mother dolphins each with a calf. You could see the calves by their tiny dorsal fins - that in itself was pretty neat. Then, once the mothers were comfortable with us, one of them came over with the baby at her side to "bow ride" for a bit. I'm telling you, it was pretty amazing - the tour guide says that's quite rare, and that the mom was likely showing off her new calf.
After the moms and calves, we came across some "big boys" - the 800 lb males out fishing. We took a pass by them and made some wake, and sure enough, they took up the invite and began "surfing" in our wake, jumping out of the water. They also came up for a bow ride, and this time out I had enough sense to grab a quick clip - it's an amazing experience.
