Happy Birthday Sweet Lucy
Our bright little light turned one today. It's a silly platitude, but time does fly when you're having fun!
We kicked off the day by opening some presents in bed (Joely was the prime opener, while Lucy enjoyed the fruits of her labour):

We all got dressed up and took a stroll down memory lane in the form of a trip to the McMaster Hospital nursery, where it all went down one year ago. Joely loves going to the place where "she made Mommy a Mommy and Daddy a Daddy". We rode the bus, which is always an extra thrill too.
For dinner entertainment, we hit the Burger King play-land (Joely thought that Lucy getting to watch her clamber around the apparatus would be great entertainment):

Next, it was back to our place for cake. Here is a shot of the cake while it was out of the reach of enthusiastic little fingers:

And here is the cake within the reach of said fingers:

Lucy, as usual, went at it with joyous abandon:

Normally, I want to kiss and cuddle Lucy's little hands, feel them on my face and in my hair, etc. Tonight, not so much:

After a feast like that, you might as well strip down to your Birthday Suit, which of course was entirely appropriate today:

After a tub (where by the sounds of the splashing and struggling, the Tub Paradox was once again in effect), our clean little girl was on her way to bed wrapped in her new giraffe hoody towel:

The name "Lucy" means "bringer of light". She certainly has made our lives even brighter.
