Breaking Bread With Nan
We went to Joely's great-nan's for dinner tonight, and Joely was introduced to washing dishes by hand (gasp!). The poor thing - all she's ever known is a dishwasher! However, she was quite taken with it - she was assigned to drying duty, which she took very seriously.
First, she would get her assignment from my mom:

Next, she would run out to the next room which was set up as a "drying area". First, she would lay out her dishcloth very carefully - no wrinkles or turned corners allowed (you can see the cup to be dried in the "staging area"):

Finally, the object to be dried was carefully rolled around on the dishcloth, until Jo was satisfied. Then, she'd run out to get the next assignment from my mom.

This went on for quite a while. If we don't have a dishwasher at our next place, I don't see our productivity soaring...
