Lulu The Leader

We've talked before about Lucy's spunky nature. Today at the company Christmas party was a perfect example of how Joely benefits from it.

The party was at a big park north of the city. One of the park features is an old fashioned train that goes on a 20 minute loop out into the "bush"; it's pretty neat since you get to see some outback country. As part of the company party kit, we got free tickets so we decided to go for a ride.

Joely was immediately nervous of how bumpy and rickety the train was, and every time it tooted its whistle, she covered her ears.

Lucy had to be restrained from leaning too far out the open windows - right from the get-go, she was loving it. When the train stopped to let us look for kangaroos (we didn't spot any - it was a hot day and they were cashed out in the shade), she got quite irritated until we got moving again.

The interesting thing to watch was Joely come out of her shell because of Lucy. After she watched Lucy standing up and looking out the windows for a bit, Joely was game, and soon started to really enjoy the ride too.

The three of us really needed Lucy to come along. She helps us drink up life with gusto.
