Dune Bashing

Today we went on a desert safari, and this is centred around an activity called "dune bashing". Essentially this is where 6 tourists pile into a 4x4 sport utility vehicle, drive out to the middle of the desert, and then go careening around the sand dunes at insane speed. I had envisioned going up and down big hills of sand at slow to moderate speeds, but this was WAY better than that.

This was more along the lines of:

hang on for dear life holy crap I can't believe we're going to go up NO now we're going down THAT hill and now oh my god we're sliding down the side this is sooooo cool WHOA we just caught air ok now I feel kinda queasy what is this going to be like after we have supper I might puke YEEEE HAWWWW!!!

Really - it was A. LOT. OF. FUN.

Afterwards, we went to a traditional Arabic camp. We chilled for a bit and enjoyed a shisha, and then ate under the stars - very cool. Here we are sharing a shisha, which is flavoured tobacco smoked through bubbling water.

Then we gathered around a dance area and a belly dancer came out for entertainment. Yes, yours truly was selected from the audience to shake his money maker.

And shake it he did, I humbly say.
