First Bike Outing
Today I set out with a local motorcyclist who was kind enough to take me on a 500 km run through some nice country south of Perth.
Of course, we picked a day where it hit 4o degrees C!! We pulled out this morning at 5:30 am, to beat the heat. By around 11:30, at one of our gas-stops, I actually said we should head for home even though we still had some time left. It was just getting too hot in my black helmet, black coat, and black riding pants (which are a lot like snowmobile pants!).
We covered some nice roads in the Perth "hills" area, which are inland about 25 km or so. Here's a shot of the steeds outside of a nice cafe that we stopped for mid-morning snack at:

Later on we ended up on Serpentine Dam, which is a damn big dam. Big enough that there is a road on top of it, which is pretty big in my books. Here is a shot of yours truly with the dam reservoir in the background:

And here's another one of me brazenly thumbing my nose at Johnny Law and his "no stopping here or we'll fine you" sign:

On the fauna sighting list: a wallaby, a 'roo, a parrot who nearly became implanted in my chest, and a goanna who was sunning on the road and scooted off as we approached (thank goodness).
Several nice curves were hit at excessive speeds, some speed limits were exceeded by a very healthy margin, and I received no driving awards from the local law officials for my most excellent fast driving.
Oh, and when I got home, Joely painted my nails:
